The new BASF Coatings training center in Shanghai is ensuring automotive refinishing technicians have the necessary skills.

Growth in the Chinese automobile market is fueling demand for skilled refinishing technicians. BASF Coatings has responded by establishing a new Refinish Competence Center (RCC) in Shanghai. The Center provides training for the refinishing personnel of authorized service centers and refinishing partners of major manufacturers. Training focuses on refinishing major cars brands like Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen and Peugeot-Citroen. Trainees learn about handling high-quality products and the latest application techniques. The four-day training sessions cover all of the essential steps involved in professional paint job repair meeting international standards, from the use of the spray gun up to advanced color shadings. Each year has as many as 600 refinishing personnel receive training at the RCC Shanghai under the super-vision of the Center’s Director of Training and BASF Coatings Trainer.
