Both BMC, a manufacturer of buses and trucks, and
Otokar, a producer of buses and military vehicles, have each opted for BASF
Coatings as their sole coatings partner.
The two Turkish companies have a combined annual production capacity of almost
30,000 vehicles.
With the support of BASF Coatings, both manufacturers succeeded in changing
over their production facilities to the new high-solids topcoats in just three
months |
and are already reaping the benefits of the change after only a short period
of time.
Serhat Uzunoglu, PaintshopTeam Leader at Otokar: “The new system from BASF
Coatings increases our productivity and, thanks to lower consumption, also
makes us more cost-effective and helps to protect the environment, while we get
to enjoy outstanding technical support.”
Savas Özkan, Paintshop Assistant Manager at BMC, adds: “The reasons for
changing over were reduced consumption, better environmental protection,
compliance with VOC regulations, and simply the fact that we get to work with a
globally recognized product rather than with just a local system.
We are impressed with our now faster and more cost-effective processes. The
convincing factors were not just the performance and quality of the products,
but also the technical support during the changeover phase. We are already
looking forward to the introduction of the waterbased coating systems, which is
due to happen shortly.”
