“Despite the difficult current economic situation, Turkey is still very
important for the automotive industry,” says Gunther Sthamer, responsible for
BASF’s coatings business in Turkey, whose new facilities began operation in
February 2009.
Because of the investments made in laboratories and a mixing station at the
BASF location in Gebze-Dilovasi, the infrastructure is now in place that is
necessary to provide an even wider array of services as a key partner.
“We have a highly qualified and experienced team in place here allowing us
to fully capitalize on the opportunities available in this expanding market,”
says Dr. Jürgen Barwich, head of the Turkey, Middle East and Northern Africa
Business Centers, regarding the expanded capabilities at the Gebze-Dilovasi
location.
