We have a passion for paint which goes far beyond the product. Our museum for lacquer art in Münster is entirely devoted to the history of a brilliant material. Sit back and be carried off into the fascinating world of lacquer art.
BASF Coatings GmbH's museum for lacquer art, established in 1993, is the only one of its kind throughout the world: It houses a unique collection of some 1,000 pieces of lacquer art from East Asia, Europe and the Islamic world covering more than two thousand years of art history. Special exhibitions are held to mirror current aspects of lacquer art.

The museum in Windthorststraße is open on
Wednesdays to Sundays from midday to 6pm and on Tuesdays from midday to 8pm.
