Biggest Mercedes-Benz branch of the world switches over to Glasurit		08/04/2009

More than just searching for colors

Abu Dhabi/Münster.As big as nine football fields: the world’s biggest Mercedes-Benz branch, Emirates Motor Company (EMC) in Abu Dhabi, has recently started using Glasurit – and Profit-Manager PRO, a BASF Coatings color matching and identification software.

In EMC’s automotive bodyshop, Heiko Guy from Marketing Services has installed the software on a total of four computers. “The spraypainters can mix paints with the software, but EMC’s warehouse keeper and team leader also use the program”, explains Guy, who spent a week in Abu Dhabi installing Profit-Manager PRO and training the company’s staff.

“Profit-Manager PRO fits in excellently with our software environment”, says Andreas Hurst, team leader in EMC’s body and paint shop. “Applications such as software-controlled inventory control with an automated ordering system and an interface to the bodyshop management system facilitate our work. For example, we can now get information on product consumption at a glance.” He adds that especially the fact that Profit-Manager PRO can also be used to manage all non-paint products makes the software more than just an efficient means of searching for colors.

From paint supplier to solution provider

“What tipped the scales in the customer’s decision to switch over from the previous paint supplier to Glasurit was also our comprehensive range of software”, says Arie Verboon, Sales Manager Export Middle East. “The successful switchover of EMC shows that nowadays it’s no longer paint products alone that are the crucial factor when it comes to winning over a customer”. He adds that, to an increasing extent, it is, above all, service products such as Profit-Manager PRO that make all the difference and are increasingly turning the erstwhile paint supplier Glasurit into a provider of solutions for its customers.
