R-M launches STOP FILLER II and AKROFILL

There are an increasing number of occasions where bodyshops need to rectify damage over large areas, such as that caused by vandalism and extreme weather conditions, or complete vehicle restoration.

R-M, brand of BASF Coatings,  has developed a fast and efficient repair system with two new products that are designed to work in perfect harmony to provide a high quality, warranty standard repair process.

R-M AKROFILL 2K SF Primer is the two pack primer, which uses its own specially formulated hardener called D501 and once mixed, can be applied directly to bare steel, galvanised steel and aluminium as well as to undamaged, solvent resistant old paintwork and requires minimal preparation.

Just one coat of AKROFILL is applied and is dried in 20 minutes at 60°C. This provides the perfect foundation for the second new product from R-M, which completes the process and that is R-M STOP FILLER II. This polyester spray filler is designed to be applied by gravity feed spray gun and between two and five coats are applied to achieve a film build of between 150 and 300 microns.

For the fastest process times, both AKROFILL and STOP FILLER II can be short wave infra red dried in 10 and 11 minutes respectively.

Together, AKROFILL and STOP FILLER II provides a thoroughly proven solution to rectify large area surface damage, providing exceptional process reliability, excellent adhesion to a wide variety of substrates and superb sanding performance.

The ease of sanding ensures that a smooth and level surface can be achieved quickly and the vehicle top coated in the fastest time possible.
