Change in the legal form of the company now completed		03/02/2010

BASF Coatings AG is now BASF Coatings GmbH

Münster. BASF Coatings has changed its legal form from that of a (not publically traded) stock corporation (“AG”) to a limited liability company (“GmbH”). The corresponding entry in the Commercial Register was made on March 1, 2010.

The change in the legal form of the company will not entail any changes for customers and company staff. Contracts of employment, industrial co-management on the basis of equal representation of employees and management, collective wage agreements, in-house agreements and all other company arrangements will remain unchanged.

“The legal form of a ‘GmbH’ is more appropriate for companies forming part of a group and which are not trading their shares on the stock market. As a ‘GmbH’, we can even better benefit from the integration into the group and divisional structures of the BASF Group”, says Dr. Helmut Rödder, Managing Director of BASF Coatings GmbH.

BASF Coatings GmbH belongs to the global Coatings Division of the BASF Group. The Coatings Division develops, produces and markets automotive OEM coatings, automotive refinish products and industrial coatings as well as decorative paints. In 2009 the Coatings Division achieved sales of 2.2 billion euros.
