Industrial Coatings Solutions

In Industrial Coatings, BASF Coatings has two souls: Precoatings and Postcoatings.

The Precoatings segment comprises Coil and Foil Coatings.

The coil coating process offers a whole raft of benefits compared with unit coating. Coating takes place as a continuous process in a closed system and all surfaces are coated before industrial forming of the steel and aluminum substrate takes place. Lower material input for cleaning, pre-treatment, and paint application are some results which not only save costs but are also better for the environment at the same time. Furthermore, the non-stop, uniform coil coating process delivers visually perfect surfaces of consistently high quality.

Foil Coatings include radiation- and acid-curable systems for functional applications such as doors or floor coverings and coatings for decorative furniture foils, an area in which BASF Coatings is the world leader. Coating takes place also as a continuous process in a closed system with all the named advantages of the coil coating process. Substrates are paperfoils and plastics.

The Postcoatings side of Industrial Coatings is dedicated to the whole set of technologies aimed at protecting and improving the functional and aesthetic characteristics of all surfaces coated after their industrial forming. The offer of coating products spaces from electro-deposition coatings, both for anodic and cathodic applications, to all the traditional technologies for spray and dipping applications, meeting all possible requirements of our challenging and demanding industries; plastics and metal, solvent and water based, spray or dipping, high solid or low VOC, you name it! With its leading role in all different segments of Domestic Appliances and Home Comfort industries BASF Coatings grants its customers high professional experience and outstanding reliability.
